Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lisa Kiesewetter takes over as head of the Technology Transfer Center
On March 27, 2025, Prof. Dr. Lisa Kiesewetter was appointed by the president of the Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS), Prof. Dr. Jean Meyer, in Schweinfurt. Prof. Dr. Kiesewetter completed her PhD in 2020 in the Department of Materials Science at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU). Until her appointment, she conducted research at the Translational Center for Regenerative Therapies at Fraunhofer ISC, focusing on “in-vitro skin models.”
Since April 1, 2025, Prof. Dr. Kiesewetter has headed the Technology Transfer Center Bad Kissingen (TTZ-KG), specializing in laboratory analytics and medical technology. The TTZ-KG is considered an important research and transfer facility in the district, benefiting the entire region. Prof. Dr. Kiesewetter's field of expertise lies at the interface between biology, medical technology, and engineering. She and her team conduct research into innovative technologies and customized solutions for a wide range of issues in the field of laboratory analysis and automation for companies in the Bad Kissingen region.
TTZ for sustainable digital transformation
The Technology Transfer Center Bad Kissingen (TTZ-KG) is an institute of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt founded in 2023 with a focus on applied research in the field of sustainable digital transformation of laboratory analytics and medical technology. Thanks to a leading European cluster with a high density of laboratories, the Bad Kissingen location offers the best conditions for this. The goal is to facilitate technology transfer and retain skilled workers in the region by closely linking industry and science.
